Everything we create at Ovation Theatrical Projections comes directly from our passion for theatre, with the goal of offering you and your audiences fresh, original visual experiences. Ovation Theatrical Projections provides high-quality, affordable projections designed to enhance the visual impact and overall aesthetic of your theatrical productions. We have a diverse library of pre-designed projection packages for popular titles, and we also offer customization options to perfectly align with your unique production requirements. For productions with specific artistic visions, we also welcome custom projection design commissions.

OUR STORY

Ovation Theatrical Projections understands the unique demands of educational, community, and regional theater because we've been in your shoes.

Founded by Jeff Davis, a former High School Theater Teacher and Technical Director in Austin, TX, OTP brings over 30 years of theatrical production experience directly to your stage. Jeff's journey began with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from UCLA, followed by seven years spent shaping young theater artists and tackling the technical and design challenges of high school productions. It was in this role that he recognized the critical need for accessible, high-quality video and projection design.

Ovation Theatrical Projections was created to fill that gap, offering affordable and innovative solutions backed by a deep understanding of your productions and budgets.

Unparalleled Flexibility: Unlike many other providers, we offer customization of our projection packages at no additional cost for minor edits, such as adjustments to color, brightness, and timing (up to three video files). More substantial edits are also available for a small fee. We recognize that each production has unique needs, and we are happy to adapt our projections to fit your specific vision.
Custom Projects: Producing an original show or a title not currently in our library? We can bring your vision to life by creating custom projections from scratch.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Jeff Davis is the owner and founder of Ovation Theatrical Projections, which he established in June 2025. Growing up in Mission Viejo, CA, Jeff's passion for theatre led him to UCLA, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with a Concentration on Directing in 2006. His dedication to nurturing young talent is evident in his previous roles as the Technical Director for the Leander High School Theatre Department from 2017 to 2020 and the Vandegrift High School Theater Department from 2020 to 2025.

A dedicated member of the Austin theatre community, Jeff serves on the B. Iden Payne Awards Council. He previously shared his insights as a theatre critic for BroadwayWorld Austin from 2012 to 2015 and served as the Artistic Director of Agape Theatre in Georgetown, TX, from 2014 to 2017, where he directed the Texas Premiere of Suffer the Long Night and the workshop production of his original play, The Yellow Wallpaper, inspired by the classic short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

Jeff's expertise extends beyond projection design, encompassing a strong background in directing, playwriting, lighting, scenic, properties, and sound design. His directing credits include acclaimed productions of A Doll's House and A Doll's House Part 2, Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic, and the Texas Premiere of Bonhoeffer's Cost.

Drawing on this extensive and diverse experience, Jeff is committed to providing innovative and impactful video design solutions for theatrical productions through Ovation Theatrical Projections.
